Nigels Green Web Awards – Second Round

9 November 2009 One Comment

Things are getting stirred up again over at Nigels Eco Store.  The second round of Green Web Awards has begun, and nominations end on Monday November 16th, so if you’d like, you might want to head over there now – Green Web Awards – and nominate Green Home Hints!

A littile history about the awards….Well, the history is short, but here it is anyways.  In 2008, many prominent eco-bloggers and gadget geeks were asked who their favourite green, eco friendly and otherwise environmentally alternative blogs and websites were.  Response was great and now, in 2009 the Green Web Awards have begun once again.  A bit of a difference this year though.  This year anyone can nominate any website they’d like as long is it falls into one of the categories listed:

  1. Green Travel / Eco Tourism Sites
  2. Kids & Young People
  3. Food & the Planet
  4. Eco-Blogs & News
  5. Online Campaigns
  6. Greenest Companies
  7. Green Living Advice Sites
  8. Social Media Hero
  9. Green Fashion
  10. Climate Change
  11. Wooden Spoon: Worst Greenwash
  12. Judges Award: Best of the Best

This type of ‘contest’ or ‘awards program’ is kind of a good thing actually.  Within the land of bloggers and other web geeks, there may be a tendency to stay within the group.  I’m quite glad that Nigels Eco Store decided to make this particular round of awards public, and its up to ordinary internet users to nominate and vote upon the best green blogs and news site of the web!
