Green Energy Act Alliance Announces Green Energy Act Enactment

Hard to believe, but it seems the government of Ontario is actually starting to take the environment AND the economy seriously.

The Green Energy Act Alliance has announce that Queens Park has enacted a bill to instate a green energy act.

From the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:

Bill 150, Green Energy and Green Economy Act, 2009

“An Act to enact the Green Energy Act, 2009 and to build a green economy, to repeal the Energy Conservation Leadership Act, 2006 and the Energy Efficiency Act and to amend other statutes”

Section in this act include the following:

  • DESIGNATED GOODS, SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGIES AND RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS AND ENERGY CONSERVATION IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR”
  • ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND EFFICIENT USE OF WATER”
  • INSPECTIONS, ENFORCEMENT AND PENALTIES”
