Shovel Your Snow – Avoid the Snow Blower

Its winter time, and with that comes a drop in temperatures and the inevitable……snow storms. Most people find this to be quite the bother. Traffic slows down, pipes freeze under the arctic chill and snow removal becomes a reality.

You have the choice of marching head on into the battle with snow shovel in hand, or snow blower in front. We all know what’s easy and what might be a little difficult and tiring. Snowblowers are about as environmentally friendly as gas powered lawn mowers. And that ain’t too environmentally friendly at all!

Look at it this way……When you use a shovel to clear your driveways and sidewalks, you get some much needed winter time exercise. Most people at this time of year are stuck in the house in front of the television with little to no proper exercise. Getting out with a shovel can be exactly what you need to get the blood flowing again and work those muscles a little.

Believe it or not, you can get the kids involved with this one too! Have them help you out by shovelling all of the snow into one giant heap so they can pack it down and create a fort or igloo out of the resulting mound of snow!!
