10 December 2008 No Comment

A vast number of people continue to smoke cigarettes. Obviously, known to be a very deadly habit, smoking is also one of the hardest addictions to overcome. There is a vide variety of methods by which you can attempt to kick the habit such as nicotine patches, nicotine gum, fake cigarettes and many more. These work for some people, but not at all for others.

Scopolamine to quit smoking

A new item is being investigated now to assist people in quitting smoking. Scopolamine, is obtained from plants of the family Solanaceae (nightshades), such as henbane and jimson weed. Scopolamine has traditionally been used as a remedy for motion sickness in very minute doses. Scientists are now beginning to look at its usefulness in helping people quit smoking. The only information I have found so far surrounds an injection of the drug with a plan that follows that to assist you in the following days, weeks and months of overcoming this extreme addiction.

I’ll keep ya’ll posted on what more I find about this.
