Electric Showers Benefit You And The Planet

14 November 2008 No Comment

If you’re about to remodel your bathroom, or even if you don’t want to remodel but aren’t happy with your current shower, consider purchasing an electric showers. With the entire world realizing the importance of water conservation, using less energy and making green choices, an electric shower is a wonderful way to get started down an environmentally friendly path. And electric showers aren’t just energy-savers, they’ll benefit you in other ways, too.

An electric shower is a great way to make sure you can always take a hot shower, day or night, no matter how many people have taken a shower in the last hour. You won’t have to wait for your boiler or hot water heater to do its job and prepare more water for you to enjoy a hot, steamy shower. Because electric showers actually grab the cold water from your water supply and heat it as its used, rather than pulled water from your water heater, the hot water cannot run out! If you’ve ever been in a hurry and taken a shower a little too closely to the person who last bathed, you’ll appreciate never having to worry about rinsing your hair in cold water again.

The temperature of the water also stays steady, unlike with traditional showers. When your shower pulls water from the hot water heater, cold water instantly takes it place so it can begin heating. So as your shower progresses, the heat of the water gradually declines thanks to the cold water flooding into the tank to replace the hot water you’ve used. Since electric showers heat the water as its used, your shower will be just as steamy and wonderful as you want it to be, from the moment you turn the water on until you’re ready to dry off.

You’ll also have less water to heat in your large water heater. Just a shower that last ten minutes Electric Showerscan use over 40 gallons of water. When that water is pulled from your cold water supply and quickly heated, it uses less energy that it takes to heat that same amount of water in a large boiler. And nothing has to work to keep the water hot. Water heaters work to keep water at a steady temperature, so even if you don’t use hot water all day, the heater is still using energy to maintain the water heat. This isn’t necessary with electric showers.

And if your water heater has ever gone out and needed to be replaced, you know the pain of being unable to take a hot shower. While your water heater is being replaced, you have to rely on friends and family to be able to take a shower. But if you own an electric shower you don’t have to have a water heater at all, and you can still enjoy a hot, steamy shower anytime.

Because they use less energy than a water heater and give you the ability to take a hot shower when you choose, electric showers are definitely a great bathroom innovation. Finally, don’t worry if you think electric showers aren’t powerful, you can now buy electric power showers which utilize larger pumps to provide greater pressure!
