Canada’s First Pedal Powered Dance Party!

So, I attended the annual Hillside Festival in Guelph, Ontario over the weekend and saw some absolutely amazing bands! For those who don’t know about Hillside Festival, its probably one of the greenest music festivals around! I’ll be posting about the festival as a whole in a different post, so watch for that one!!

One band that I saw on Sunday night had a really neat show to announce. Mr. Something Something, as they put it, is “A little something for the body, a little something for the mind: your soundtrack to a joyful revolution.”

The band hails from Toronto, and their one of the grooviest band I’ve seen in a while. Combining various percussion instruments, horns, guitars, and dancing. Yes, dancing! Jennifer Dallas, whom apparently moved from the west coast to Toronto after deciding that she was meant to dance, instead of becoming a paramedic. She attended dance school, and blossomed from there…..which was very apparent at the show I saw. Also in the band are Johan Hulqvist - Vocals, John Maclean - tenor sax, clarinet and flute, Larry Graves - Drums and Percussion, Paul Macdougall - Guitar and Liam Smith - Bass. Groovy dance music I tells ya!!!!

Soooooo…….whats different about Mr. Something Something???? Well, on September 20, 2008, Mr. Something Something is putting on Canada’s first pedal powered dance party! Thats right…..the entire party will be powered by…..you guessed it, fans riding bikes to supply energy for the show! Now, if thats not cool, find me something (something) that is!!!
